The federal bank regulatory agencies have announced that they are extending the comment period until January 16, 2024, for their proposal to increase the strength and resilience of the banking system. This extension is intended to give interested parties more time to analyze the issues and prepare their comments. The comment period for the Federal Reserve Board’s proposal to modify the capital surcharge for the largest and most complex banks is also extended until the same date. Originally, comments on both proposals were due by November 30.
