On September 13, 2023, Chair Jerome H. Powell conducted the swearing-in ceremony for Philip N. In the press briefing room of the Board’s Martin building, Vice Chair Jefferson was administered the oath by Chair Powell. Dr. Jefferson was nominated by President Biden on May 12, 2023, and subsequently confirmed by the United States Senate on September 6, 2023.
