On Tuesday, the Federal Reserve Board published the minutes of its recent gatherings to evaluate and establish the discount rates given to depository institutions via the discount window. The minutes released today pertain to the Board meetings that took place on July 17 and 26, 2023.
The Board’s approach to determining the discount rate is separate from the process undertaken by the Federal Open Market Committee to establish the target range for the federal funds rate.
